Under the umbrella of ESTEBURG - Jork Fruit Growing Center,
the fruit competence center of the North German cooperation in horticulture in the states of Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Saxony-Anhalt. The cooperation celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2014.
In total, ESTEBURG from Jork and Langförden looks after around 1,400 fruit growers in northern Germany. Several organizations with different focuses in research, consulting and in integrated and organic fruit growing have joined forces at ESTEBURG to research, advise and train in fruit growing.

The Jork Fruit Growing Experimental and Advisory Centre has been successfully working for fruit growing in Northern Germany for over 75 years, with the core area being the Lower Elbe region.
Several institutions, such as the Fruit Growing Experimental Station of the Chamber of Agriculture of Lower Saxony, the Altes Land Fruit Growing Experimental Ring, the Northern Germany Organic Fruit Growing Experimental and Advisory Ring, and others, have joined forces at the centre to support commercial fruit growing through research, advice, and training and further education.
