Hiking

Eschweiler has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. In 828 the town was mentioned as the Carolingian royal estate of Ascvillare. The town is a carnival stronghold - and this is still evident after the great flood of 2021. Although the Inde flood destroyed a lot, the residents are not letting it get them down and are gradually rebuilding everything.
