The Neuhausen cemetery was first mentioned in 1315. Since the cemetery extends around the Winthir Church, it is also known colloquially as the "Winthir Cemetery". The cemetery consists of a church and an urban part. Neuhausen was incorporated into Munich in 1890.

Small cemetery with a Gothic church. In 1597 the grave of St. Winthir was integrated into the church. It burned down in 1794 and was rebuilt. In 1828 the cemetery was expanded. In 1861 the church was closed due to dilapidation and was partially renovated until 1872. In 1882 Neuhausen became independent as a parish and the Winthirkirche, then called St.Nicolaus, became part of Neuhausen's local church. As the church became too small, the Herz Jesukirche was built in Lachnerstrasse in 1889. When the tower collapsed, the church was rebuilt and received its current name Winthirkirche.
