    This trail is incredible. The views of the mountains from along the tree-lined trail are fantastic the whole way and the scenery is stunningly beautiful. The hike is challenging enough to be interesting without being difficult.

As you traverse the path, you'll encounter rugged rock formations and diverse desert flora, including alligator junipers and various cacti. The trail offers sweeping vistas of the Organ Mountains and the expansive Tularosa Basin, with the distinctive "Rabbit Ears" peaks providing a memorable visual landmark.

    For your visit, free parking is available if you begin your hike from the west side of the trail. Should you choose to start from the east, access is through the Aguirre Springs Recreation Area, where a $5 day-use fee applies. The trail welcomes hikers year-round, allowing you to plan your adventure at any time. Dogs are also permitted on the route, provided they are kept on a leash, making it a suitable option for those hiking with their canine companions.
