Another bronze sculpture by Frijo Müller-Belecke shows a group building a dike with a cart and a tow rope. The group at the original location gives a good impression of the hard work of building a dike in earlier times. The sculpture was erected in 1996 as a donation from the water and soil associations. In 2010, the front figure was sawn off just above the boots and stolen. In April 2012, the original state was restored with a new cast.

🚲✨ The Dike Construction Monument at the Pumping Station (Schöpfwerk) in Otterndorf is a powerful symbol of the centuries-long struggle of people against the natural forces of the North Sea. It is located at one of the technically most important points in the region, where the hinterland is protected from flooding and drained.
