The first house built at that time is at Gartenstrasse 6, on the corner of Pfarrstrasse. All future houses had to be aligned with this building. In the future, all Bavarian towns were to be rebuilt in the event of a fire disaster, as was done in the model town of Rehau. But only there was Johann Wilhelm Baumann's design implemented.
That is why Rehau is the only model town in Bavaria.

Nestled in the hilly foothills of the northern Fichtel Mountains, the town lies at the foot of the Grosser Kornberg (827 m above sea level) in the northeast of Upper Franconia. It is three kilometres from the border of the Czech Republic and nine kilometres from the Free State of Saxony.

The Perlenbach and Höllbach rivers flow through Rehau and join together to form the Schwesnitz in the town area.
