Hiking
The street "Alter Graben" in Bamberg owes its name to its location: it once ran along the outer city moat of Bamberg's medieval fortifications, more precisely the fortification of the St. Stephan immunity. This moat was gradually filled in and built over.
Today, the "Alte Graben" is an inner-city street in the Berg area of the historic old town, which belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It extends from Oberer Stephansberg to Oberer Leinritt.

A very beautiful, narrow alley with some narrow houses. Here you go down the steps to the Don Bosco ferry.

Built around 1772, the town house "Alter Graben 8," located in the mountainous area of the historic old town, is a listed building and, after a meticulous renovation, is now used as a guest house. With its two floors, the house offers spacious living space for up to six people.
