The Barbarossa Trail Loop is a challenging hike that takes you through diverse alpine landscapes. Planning your visit requires preparation for this demanding trail. It is rated as difficult, similar to SAC 4–6, so be ready for steep ascents and very steep descents; hiking poles are highly recommended to assist you. For a more relaxed start, you can consider taking a chairlift to the Tarscher Alm, which typically operates from mid-May to mid-October. A convenient shuttle bus service connects Latsch to the chairlift's valley station, making access easier.
