The Carl Isenmann fountain in Gengenbach near the train station commemorates the composer Carl Isenmann (1837-1889). It was inaugurated in 2007 by the men's choir Sängerbund Eintracht 1862. The Gengenbach composer Carl Isenmann became known, among other things, for his musical settings of student songs. These include "Alt Heidelberg du Feine", the lyrics of which were written by Joseph Victor von Scheffel. But Carl Isenmann is best known for the song "Oh Black Forest, Oh Homeland, how you are so beautiful", the lyrics of which were written by the jewelry manufacturer and poet Ludwig Auerbach.
