The triangular old market in Kirchberg has existed since the city was founded in 1212 and is still paved with natural cobblestones from the surrounding quarries. It forms the center of the city and, together with the surrounding residential buildings, is the oldest part of the city. For example, many baroque details have been preserved and are now listed buildings.
Every year on the first weekend in October, it offers the perfect setting for the Old Town Festival and the Christmas market on the first Sunday of Advent.
