The German occupier had a ditch or anti-tank ditch dug around Zevenbergen to be able to ward off a possible attack by the Allies with tanks. Just outside Zevenbergen there was a road to Klundert and at the place where the road crossed the anti-tank ditch, concrete barriers were placed on both sides of the road with a number of iron anti-tank barriers on the road surface in between.
