Hiking

The Datteln security gate is located on the Dortmund-Ems-Kanal (km 21.7) near the Dattelner Meers. The function of the gate is to prevent water leaking out of the canal if there is damage to the canal dams. By remote control, the gate can be closed by the remote control center in Datteln.

Hiking

The Alte Fahrt is a disused section of the Dortmund-Ems-Kanal on the Dattelner Meer. The section is about 9 km long, has been renatured and now houses biotopes. It leads from dates to Münsterland.
