This monument commemorates the capture of the bridge on the Bug by Polish lancers and preventing the Soviets from retreating. I hope there will be as many such undertakings as possible.

The Battle of Frankopol and Skrzeszew took place on 18-19.08.1920 during the defensive war with Soviet Russia. The Volunteer Cavalry of Major Feliks Jaworski stood in the way of Budyonny's defeated and retreating cavalry army.

The victorious counter-offensive of Polish troops in August 1920 also had a significant Podlasie episode in the form of the battle of Polish uhlans at Skrzeszew and Frankopol on the Bug River. Here, on 19 August 1920, Polish soldiers cut off the Bolsheviks' retreat. About 40 uhlans, mostly volunteers, died in the battle.

Jaworski's Uhlans (approx. 500 cavalrymen), set off for battle on August 16, 1920 from Kock. On the way, they captured Radzyń and Międzyrzec, and on August 18, Mordy and Łosice. Here, they received an order to continue the forceful pursuit in order to prevent the enemy from crossing the Bug.
