Hiking
As its name suggests, the pebble cove that stretches out before your eyes was once home to a port. A dike of dry stones sunk into the sand was built in the 18th century. It provided protection against the north-east wind, sheltering a small number of boats (never exceeding ten) that ran aground or sometimes moored to wooden stakes. Today, the construction is a victim of silting up, but you can still make it out at low tide.
