Plaza de la Romanilla, also known as Plaza de las Palmeras, is located near Granada Cathedral. This square has a rich history dating back to the Moorish period, when it was one of the city's souks. Over the centuries, it has evolved and transformed, transforming from a 19th-century vegetable market into a modern urban space.
Today, the square houses the Federico García Lorca Foundation and the monument to the water carrier, along with stalls selling fruit, nuts, spices, and bars. It's an ideal place to soak up the local atmosphere and learn about Granada's ethos.

The Plaza de la Romanilla is one of the most central urban spaces and is located near the Cathedral of Granada. This square, also known as the Plaza de las Palmeras because of the presence of these trees (palm trees) here, is next to the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel (Capilla Real).
