The Kinnickinnic River Overlook Loop offers a delightful mountain biking experience, winding through lush pine and hardwood forests. You'll enjoy fast, flowy singletrack with engaging turns and sweeping downhills, all while skirting the scenic Kinnickinnic River Gorge. Keep an eye out for picturesque views of the ravine as the trail descends, providing a truly "oh so scenic" backdrop to your ride.
This easy 9.1-mile (14.7 km) loop, with its 475 feet (145 metres) of elevation gain, can be completed in about 1 hour and 17 minutes. The mountain bike trailhead is separate from the main Kinnickinnic State Park entrance, typically accessed via W12192 757th Ave or 770th Ave, and requires a Wisconsin State Park Vehicle Admission Sticker. The trails are well-marked, making navigation simple for all skill levels.
Kinnickinnic State Park's mountain biking trails are renowned for their cross-country style and meticulous maintenance by the Willow Kinni Mountain Bike Club. Many trails feature whimsical mushroom-related names, adding a unique charm to the system. The park also includes a dedicated Bike Playground with skill trails like Black Trumpet, Putu, and Enoki, perfect for practicing and honing your riding techniques.
