The bridge pillar is a popular viewing point and meeting point on the Wesel Rhine promenade. The old viaducts are now protected as an architectural monument and are a reminder of the impressive bridge construction. On the Wesel side they are used as a hangar for gliders and as a restaurant.

A bridge tower, the old Wesel railway bridge, offers the opportunity to see the Rhine from above. Especially when the weather is nice, it is worth going up the few steps. The bridge itself was blown up on March 10, 1945 by German pioneers.
