This touring bicycle loop offers a delightful journey across the flat, paved surfaces of the Columbia Greenway and Southwick Rail Trails. You'll glide through varied landscapes, from the elevated urban sections of Westfield with views over the Little River, to tranquil farmland, and eventually past swamps and golf courses on your way to Congamond Coffee. The smooth terrain and diverse scenery make for a truly pleasant and engaging ride.

Accessing this route is straightforward, with convenient parking available at the Depot Square Lot in Westfield or behind the Shaker Farms Country Club. Congamond Coffee in Southwick serves as a perfect mid-ride stop, known for being cyclist-friendly. This easy 19.4-mile (31.3 km) loop, with only 384 feet (117 metres) of elevation gain, is estimated to take around 1 hour and 49 minutes, making it an accessible option for most.

The Columbia Greenway Rail Trail stands out as one of the few elevated urban rail-trails in the United States, featuring nine pedestrian bridges and historical markers detailing Westfield's past. It's part of the extensive New Haven & Northampton Canal Greenway, offering connections to a much larger network. This route provides a unique blend of historical context and natural beauty, built on former railroad beds for a consistently gentle grade.
