In 1949, a red-brown obelisk was erected on the former cremation ground by Soviet soldiers and the parish of Kirchmöser as a World Icon. He wears a Soviet Star and 4 panels with the names of 85 forced laborers, including children who died during the Second World War between 1941 and 1945 at the forced labor camp in Kirchmöser.
