Bethlehem Church in Kiel-Friedrichsort is a timber-framed Evangelical Lutheran building built in 1875, originally serving as a garrison church.
It is affectionately called the "wooden church" or "prayer shed" because of its simple exterior design.
Also unusual is that the altar faces west, not east as usual.
Today, the building is a listed building – it is the third oldest church in Kiel and is actively maintained as a cultural and worship center by the Bethlehem Church Interest Group.
