Murreagh Beach lies deep in Smerwick Harbour, a wide, sheltered bay between Ballydavid and Ballyferriter. The beach itself is quiet, low-lying and fine-grained, with a gentle transition from grassy dunes to sand. Due to its sheltered location, the water here is remarkably calm and glassy, especially compared to the rugged west coast around Dunquin and Slea Head.
