The wait was definitely worth it. The new section is great to cycle on. They even thought of lighting. That's so annoying on other bike paths: pitch black in winter. ☹️

RS1 the quickest way through the quiet when it is finished. The 1.2-kilometer section was opened on May 15, 2019. The section leads from the leads from the Ruhr Bridge to the Ruhr West University. The first section over 5 kilometers was opened at the end of 2015 between the city limits of Essen and the main train station in Mülheim.
