The statue of Vasileios Petmezas (Βασίλειος Πετιμεζάς), a significant general and politician of the Greek Revolution. The statue is located in the historic monastery of Agia Lavra. Petmezas (c. 1785-1872) came from an influential family of freedom fighters (Armatoles) from the Kalavryta region.
He fought in numerous decisive battles of the War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire, including at Levidi, Tripolitsa, and against the troops of Ibrahim Pasha.
