    Hiking

The Gatterl (2,024 m) is a prominent border pass between Tyrol (Austria) and Bavaria (Germany) in the Wetterstein Mountains. The passage is primarily known as one of the most classic and scenically beautiful ascents from Austria to the Zugspitze (2,962 m).

Compared to steep via ferratas (like Höllental or Stopselzieher), the Gatterl is considered the technically easiest, albeit long, ascent to the Zugspitze.
