The Veenpark Museum is an open-air museum in Barger-Compascuum, Drenthe, The Netherlands. With an area of 160 ha including the outside area, which can only be reached from the field railway, it is one of the largest open-air museums in Europe. Source: Wikipedia

In my photo of the entrance it looks emptier than it is as most visitors come by car and the fairly full parking lot is across the street behind the photographer. Open-air museum about life and work in the moor more than 100 years ago and even earlier.

The museum is very nice and worth visiting.
There is a lot worth knowing about the work in the raised bog and about the life of the people.
Where else can you ride an old moor railway?
