Hiking

Nothing starts and ends here. The area of the airfield can be rounded on a path. The place itself is protected (plants and animals).

Hiking

The Old Airfield is a largely flat sandy area with nutrient-poor soil, atypical for the region. This has created a habitat that is virtually unique in the northern Upper Rhine Plain. Over 80 bird species, 100 moth species, and 280 different flowering plant species have been identified to date. It has been designated a nature reserve since 2010.

There is a surrounding path that offers views over the old airfield and into the distance beyond.
