Just below the turnoff following Chaparral Road to the campground, a wide section of the lakeshore is a popular beach and kayak or SUP launch.

Wide and gentle shore with gravel to access the reservoir water at various levels, in view of the dam to the south. Excellent place to start/finish for a loop around the lake or the gravel forest roads, with a refreshing bath in the lake afterwards.
