The historic watermill, also known as "Knollmeyer's Mill," is located directly opposite the beer garden and is still fully operational today. It is one of the oldest watermills in the Osnabrück district, presumably dating back to the time of Charlemagne.

The water mill is still run by an organic miller and it is also possible to see the mill in action. "Sophie's Backstube" (formerly Café Läer, the miller's brother) on Krahnstrasse in Osnabrück processes the mill's products. You can also stop off at the Knollmeyer inn right next to the mill.
