Hiking
The mini beaches here are not only ideal for swimming for dogs, but also for people from Zweibrunswick have a lot of fun here: When you swim in the slightly salty waters of the Flemhudersee estuary, you are sometimes lucky enough to see large tankers cruising right in front of you.

Hiking
Here, where Lake Flemhude flows into the Kiel Canal (NOK), it's a good place to observe ships. The big ships pass through the Kiel Canal. Some sailors enter Lake Flemhude.
Did you know that the lake used to be 6.5 meters higher? That was when the Eider River still flowed through it. Today, the Eider River is diverted past it at this height.

Hiking
Nice bathing access for dogs and humans :) The water quality is good, the water is slightly salty, as it is fed from the NOK.
