Soccergolf has its origins in Sweden, the first facilities there originated in the 1980s. Meanwhile, the sport has become very popular. The first plant in Germany was built in July 2006 in Rhineland-Palatinate. Since then more than 30 plants have been established. There are now world and European championships held. This year's World Championship will be held in Cornwall in June.
