Šoićeva Kuća

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Šoić's house is the oldest mountaineering facility in the Samobor hills. It is a ground floor building located at the beginning of Mali Lipovac, to the right of the road along the Klokočevica stream (or Lipovečka Gradna), and below the slope where the Lipovec hillfort stands. In 1931, the HPP branch Japetić bought the building of the former railway station and arranged pl. house, and after the then deserving president, it was named Šoić's house. In front of the house, the society built a well in 1935, and placed tables and benches for picnickers around it under the canopy. Although located in a valley with a narrow view, it is well visited. It is popular because of the beautiful mountain nature in the area, its position in the center of the mountains and at the crossroads.

Žitnica Mountain Lodge, Japetić

The Žitnica mountain lodge on Japetić (815 m) was built by the HPD "Jastrebarsko" between 1951 and 1955 on the top of a meadow called Žitnica. The home has a spacious dining room, kitchen, terrace and 3 bedrooms with a total of 21 beds. It is supplied with food and drink. It is open Friday afternoon, Saturday, Sunday, holidays and by appointment. A macadam road from St. Jane leads to the home. The lodge has a control stamp of the 4 seasons bypass on Japetić, the Karlovac bypass and the Circular hiking road through the Samobor hills. It is possible to buy mountaineering literature - books, diaries and mountaineering maps of Samobor and Žumberak mountains.
