In the Schellbruch nature reserve you can find everything that water has to offer: a river (the Trave), lagoons, streams, freshwater ponds, ditches, pools and occasionally flooded meadows. A true bird paradise and we also spotted wild boars at sunrise.
In the idyllic fishing village of Gothmund, time seems to stand still. Simply wonderful.

Before the NSG, a warm cocoa with cream 😋 - always works in this weather.
Determined by the Trave and the reeds, you enter a varied NSG. This has a lot to offer for nature and animal lovers 🦆.
My highlight: The fishing village of Gothmund

Okay, the last few days I've been able to see the Baltic Sea almost every day and I can't really get away from the water after all. But does it always have to be the Baltic Sea? No, it doesn't have to. Luckily there are some nice alternatives here in the north.
