This is NOT a rideable route! 1st part is easy, the rest is NOT intermediate! It's a combination of expert and carrying your bike! This route should have been left as a hike only!

One of the series of waterfalls on Allt Coir' a' Mhadaidh known as Fairy Glen. It's a beautiful setting but often quite popular nearer the car park, carry on upstream to reduce the crowds.

Without question a beautiful place, but in our opinion a bit overrated.

We only did the typical tourist route, as we actually had another hike in mind, which we did in the afternoon and can absolutely recommend.

Nice, but very busy walk. Due to the rainfall, the path is wet and muddy in many places. So be careful..... I walked about 80% of the route, 60% of which is unpaved.

The road to it is a disaster, very bad and very busy. Chance of a flat tire is real

No. 59 of my #100komootwanders_2022 challenge. 💛
Tuesday 11th October 2022.
Today, I took a detour to the Isle of Skye and headed straight for a hotspot. The Fairy Pools were on my list. I drove many kilometers of single-track road into the mountains and, like lemmings, tackled the route to the Fairy Pools with many other tourists. The landscape is beyond stunning, words cannot describe it. A must-see 🤩🤩🤩

When planning our Scotland trip, we included quite a few hikes on the Isle of Skye!

We had made a few stops on the way to Isle of Skye to slightly explore, however our first proper destination on the Island was Fairy Pools! We had heard so much about these that we definitely had to see them! We also thought …

A must-see on the Isle of Skye. Very busy, ideally it is better to arrive very early (small parking lot one km away where it is possible to sleep in a van or motorhome).
It is possible to do an 8km loop which goes around Mount Cairn.
Moderate difficulty, but you need waterproof hiking shoes!

The pools weren't fairy at all🙃 Today was the first day in Scotland with bad weather!! But really bad! Hurricane-like gusts of wind and heavy, continuous rain. We (and some other tourists too) were crazy enough to do the planned hike anyway 😮. The result: the heavy rain meant that you couldn't see any "pools", just small waterfalls.
And: we …

Very nice walk, and easy to access. Many waterfalls with their natural swimming pools.
Personally, I often stopped to admire and put my feet in the water... hence the time because I forgot to stop the clock at each break, and in places like this the clock doesn't count, for example. against the pleasures, relaxation as well as the beauty …
