The Church of the Virgin Mary (Greek: Panagia Keriotissa) is the heart of the mountain village of Keri and is considered one of the most important religious sites on Zakynthos.
According to legend, a shepherd found a glittering object in the bushes in the early 17th century. He discovered a slightly burnt icon of the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus and Saint Nicholas. Although he brought it to the village, the icon returned to the place where it was found the next day, as if by itself, whereupon the church was built there.

Very relaxed round. We parked near the Keri Lighthouse restaurant. The path leads uphill to the magnificent view of the rock formation and further through forest, beautiful olive tree plantations and colorful flowers, through the pretty mountain village of Keri back to the restaurant.
There very tasty eaten with a direct view of the Myzithres.
