Corral d'en Forn

Highlight • Historical Site

Corral d'en Forn is a 17th and 18th century farmhouse, located on the south-western slope of Turó de ca l'Amar. Architecturally, it is not one of the most outstanding farmhouses, but, located at an altitude of about 400 meters, it was one of the benchmarks for the mountain lifestyle.

In this farmhouse, the Forn de Torrentbó family had the herd, hence the name Corral d'en Forn. In addition to the corral, there were crops, such as the vineyard, which could be grown at this height because it was on the sunny side.

Rupit Cross

Highlight • Monument

Contrary to popular belief, the Creu de Rupit toponym refers to a crossroads. It is an old word, similar to others in the Maresme area: Collsacreu, Creueta, Creu de Canet. All of them refer to points where paths cross.

Geographically, the Creu de Rupit is the hill that separates the basins of the Sobirans and Canyamars streams, an important crossroads that leads to different places in the Vallès and the Maresme. Furthermore, at this point of Rupit there has always been a cross; It is an emblematic element that constitutes a landmark within the landscape of the Rupit environment.

The landscape up here combines open spaces, such as the Rupit plain, with spaces with dense forests of pines, holm oaks and cork oaks.

Horseshoe Stone

Highlight • Natural Monument

In the surroundings of the "Pedra de la Ferradura" we can find small accumulations of granite blocks, disordered, heterometric and rounded, which accumulate in a horizontal or slightly inclined relief. These capricious formations have their origin in weathering. Later, the rainwater dissolves the feldspar and the large initial rock cracks and gives rise to rounded shapes and a kind of sand, called "sauló" in Catalan.
