Via Porta Canarda Coastal Path

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Many thanks to the creator of this highlight. The path is really great. Easily accessible and far away from speeding cars. We used the section on a circular route from the old town of Ventimiglia. First on the designated hiking trail in komoot heading west (directly on the road) and then back on this path that is not marked anywhere, which is a lot of fun.
There is a beautiful view of the Mediterranean from almost everywhere and also one or two views of the hinterland, which is a complete contrast to the coast.

Balzi Rossi Beach

Highlight • Beach

Balzi Rossi beach is one of the most renowned places in Ventimiglia. Here you will find crystal clear water and a series of caves with a thousand-year history. A real gem!

The Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Ventimiglia is the city's cathedral and an important medieval church, built between the 11th and 12th centuries on the ruins of an earlier Carolingian cathedral. It is characterized by a layering of different architectural styles, including Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque. The building houses a baptistery and is known for its Romanesque architecture, reminiscent of early medieval churches.
