Miesje pyramid

Daniël George van Beuningen, art collector and founder of the famous Dutch museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, had four pyramids of boulders built on his estate between 1938 and 1955 as a form of art.

This pyramid is named after Daniël George's granddaughter: Miesje Peterich and contains a bricked-in stone with the year 1948 (year of construction) on the front and a bricked-in horseshoe on the back.

The three remaining pyramids have been expertly restored by volunteers from the Heemkundige Vereniging Nuwenspete since 2009.
