The Schwaiger Alm there was unfortunately closed, but there are chilled drinks outside the hut, and the climb across the alpine meadows offers a magnificent view of the valley. 😍

The starting point of the hike is the hiking car park above Lehen. The first part of the ascent leads over a steep ravine on the route of the historic Schnabler and sledge race. Later over meadows and in the forest in a steady, sometimes steep ascent to the summit of the Rechelkopf. Very nice hike with a wide view …

When I was planning this tour with its 640 meters of altitude, I thought of the line "This path won't be easy" (Xavier Naidoo).

Shortly after the hiking car park, it was about 2km quite steep and mostly up gravel. Good for thighs and bottom!

Today we only started at midday. Blue skies, sunshine, but still pretty cold. The path is mostly in the shade, and only at the summit does the sun shine again. There is still a lot of snow in the upper part, so our crampons were helpful. It was a very successful afternoon.

A nice afternoon tour with a new summit for me, the Rechelkopf. The starting point at Gaißach train station only makes sense if you are driving publicly. Otherwise there is a small parking lot at the foot of the Rechelkopf. Most of the time in the forest you walk on rooty paths. A bit steep in the lower part, otherwise …

After work, I met up with friends near Bad Tölz. Since I'd been there some time before, I took the opportunity to hike up Rechelkopf.
Perfect in the summer temperatures, most of the trail runs through shady forest.
Very quiet on the trail; in this weather, most ambitious hikers were headed for higher peaks today.
