Iping Common

Highlight • Natural

Iping Common is one of the most vibrant areas of dry heath in the country, a place that is richly atmospheric and full of wildlife. The tell-tale, flinty call of the stonechat is a common sound on the trails here.

It is part of the Iping and Stedham Common Nature Reserve, which covers 310 acres (125 ha) and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest just to the west of Midhurst in the South Downs National Park.
