June 1, 2025,Berg. Land: Rösrath Bergbauweg (Berg. Streifzug 15)
After the vacation in April and the city trip in May, it was time again for a hike in the Bergisches Land. On the Bergisches Streifzug 15 (Bergisch Stroll 15), you learn that the Romans were already mining ore in the Bergisches Land. Today a hike from Hopesthal with a rain-free and at times even sunny phase to the Lüderich: The Lüderich is a mountain range that extends into the towns of Overath, Rösrath and Lohmar in the Bergisches Land. Mining has a long history in Lüderich. This was proven during excavations through the discovery of various types of Roman ceramic shards. In …

Ten information panels along this approximately 12-kilometer-long trail offer insights into the history and technology of ore mining, as well as the numerous legends surrounding the …

Here, surefootedness is a must.

The rest of the path was easy 👍 to walk on and top-notch.

Made a trip to the Bergisches Land today to hike more Bergische forays.

The first foray is the mining trail in Rösrath. An absolutely recommendable hiking trail with great views, exciting passages and great paths.
Even if there wasn't much new to learn in terms of mining technology for a Ruhri, the path received a 100% rating! 🙂🏞

The mining route leaves little to be desired. There are some climbs, lots of single trails, good infotainment and a lot to look at.
Be it in the distance, be it industrial cultural assets.

Even the chatter about residential areas isn't very annoying.
Just the detour past the outdoor pool is perhaps a bit too much of a good thing, …
