Threshfield Moor Path

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

A classic English moorland walk (good views of the edge of Barden Moor) - lots on a good track. Beautiful, windswept heathery views on the way. There are still remains of old quarries on your way in this area (coal mining here was abandoned in 1905, so there are still remains and ruins of those activities to be seen).

Cows on Moor Lane

Highlight • Natural

Climbing on GRVL up past the Winterburn Reservoir - this section was decent but there's some tough climbing and rough surfaces to get there - also COWS!

The Angel at Hetton

Highlight • Restaurant

The Angel at Hetton is a 500 year old inn which has gained a reputation as one of the most delectable dining experiences in the north of England. It is widely regarded as the UK's original gastropub, setting a trend that so many have since followed. It featured in the original series of The Trip starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon. Five rooms in the nearby converted barn offer luxurious lodging options.
