Dukes Pass Climb from Trossachs

Highlight (Segment) • Mountain Pass

Dukes Pass is a pass on the A821 road between Aberfoyle and Brig o' Turk in the glen of the Trossachs in the Scottish Highlands. It climbs to a height of 240 metres (790 ft) above sea level.

The road was built by the Duke of Montrose in 1885, hence the name.

Trossachs Pier

Highlight • Settlement

At the east end of Loch Katrine is the road access to the loch. There you can also find some tourist infrastructure (bike rental, tourist boats, toilets, souvenirs, parking lot). Two signposted hiking trails also start here. The lake itself has been immortalized by many writers.

Dukes Pass Scenic Drive

Highlight (Segment) • Mountain Pass

Duke's Pass is the road through the Achray Forest from Loch Achray in the north to Aberfoyle in the south. Currently the surface is better on the Aberfoyle side so it's best to ride north to south and have a better surface for the fast descent.
Loch Achray is at about 100m and Aberfoyle is lower at about 20m. The highest point on the pass is at 238m.
