Shrewsbury Castle

Highlight • Viewpoint

The unmistakable red stone of Shrewsbury Castle, now home to the Shropshire Regimental Museum Trust, is a landmark in the centre of Shropshire's historic county town.

Here you'll now find items including uniforms, medals, weapons and photographs stretching back to the 18th century.

You can also get married here, with the beautiful walled gardens a great backdrop for anyone's special day!

Entrance to the castle gardens is free, and well worth a gander if you're passing by.

Shrewsbury Library is a pretty remarkable building it used to be the Shrewsbury Schiol before it moved location. it is open every day (when not in lock down) and is worth a look for the views you can see across the town from the top floor.

View of Shropshire from Lyth Hill

Highlight • Viewpoint

This starts out as a double-track rough lane, which after going through a gate, leads onto a short grassy section before a short, steep rocky descent to another gate. The rocky descent is gnarly! So I'd get off and walk down it unless you've got good mountain bike skills.

Puntley Road Track

Highlight • Trail

A good long climb with a farm type track, lots of potholes and muddy after rain. Grippy tyres a must.

Great gravel section putting you at the foot of the Stiperstones. Best in drier months or prepare to get muddy!
