Bahntrassen Cycle Path Oberwart–Bad Tatzmannsdorf

Highlight • Cycleway

great bike path from Rechnitz to Groß Petersdorf and on to Oberwart. From there you drive on another railway line to your destination. Perfectly designed, super asphalt, hardly any inclines - logical. Railroad tracks don't have much gradient...

Pinka Cycle Route

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

The Pinkaradweg "B54" is a 31-kilometer-long cycle route in southern Burgenland. It was opened in 2005 and leads from Oberwart through the towns of Riedlingsdorf, Pinkafeld, Wiesfleck, Willersdorf, Oberschützen and Unterschützen back to Oberwart.

In one variant, the start and finish of the tour is Bad Tatzmannsdorf, which you leave or reach via a connecting section of the Pinkaradweg. This connecting path joins the circuit between Unterschützen and Oberwart. This extension gives the Pinkaradweg a length of 37 kilometers.

Between Unterschützen and Oberwart there is the option of switching to the four-season cycle path.

Main Square Pinkafeld

Highlight • Settlement

The creation of the column dates back to the year 1700 as a votive building on the occasion of the end of the Great Turkish War and the associated, final defense against the danger that emanated from the campaigns of the Ottoman Empire for Central Europe.

The story of the Marian Column is related to the Hungarian noble family Batthyány, who resided in the Batthyány Castle in Pinkafeld. The noble family had the column renovated several times in the 19th century.

The parish church in the center is the old mother church of the district. From 1773 to 1774 was a new building. The church was consecrated in 1786 with Bishop Johann Szily from the diocese of Szombathely. The completion with complete equipment (organ around 1800) of the church was in 1807. A restoration of the interior and the interior of the church was done in 1888 with the painter and carpenter Johann Rohrer from Pinkafeld. A total restoration took place in 1956; a painting in 1963.

The Golfodrom
is one of the largest and best equipped in Europe. With its target greens and bunkers, the pitching area and numerous teeing grounds, it offers excellent training and practice opportunities.

The partially heated tee-off huts (combined with video rooms, which can be used with floodlights in the evenings) allow a tee-off in any weather. The generously sized putting green, equipped with a high-quality floodlighting system, completes the exercise possibilities.

The 9-hole course
The Lichtenwald-Platz (Par 60) with its interesting Par 3 and Par 4 holes offers ideal opportunities to put trained blows into practice. The region around Bad Tatzmannsdorf is characterized by the Pannonian climate and allows almost a year-round playing of the system.

Small round - partly Hptstraßen - Gasthaus zum Burgenländer with inexpensive good lunch menus is almost on the route - stopping off is recommended (closed on Thursdays)

Today we rode the Pinka cycle path and, because we still had some time and inclination, the railway cycle path from Oberwart to Oberschützen and back. Next time we start in Rechnitz and drive the entire railway route.
