Goczałkowice-Zdrój (German: Bad Gottschalkowitz) - a spa village in southern Poland, located in the Silesian Voivodeship, in the Pszczyna poviat, in the Goczałkowice-Zdrój commune, historically in Upper Silesia.

In 1856 the Prussian mining administration in Goczałkowice was looking for salt deposits. At a depth of 616 m, 4% brine was found. It turned out that setting up a saline is unprofitable. Therefore, in 1861, the government put the well up for sale along with the surrounding buildings. The site was purchased by the company of Adolf Babel from Pszczyna, a doctor from Pszczyna, Heinrich Schiller, a merchant, and Wilhelm Czech, a master builder. The buyers commissioned a chemical analysis of the waters of Dr. Szwarc from Wrocław. The results of the analysis put the waters of Goczałkowice on a par with the then famous springs in Kreutznach, in Krankenheil, in the Austrian Hall and the Bavarian Adelheids-Quelle. The 1st treatment season began in June 1862. In the same year, Goczałkowice was visited by 262 patients.
