Great Nodden Summit

Highlight • Summit

Great Nodden bulges out of the moor on the western side of Dartmoor National Park. Its east side drops very steeply down to the River Lyd. Its west side curves more gently to the trackbed of the Rattlebrook Peatworks Railway (Disused) and the King Way. Grass paths rise to the top of Great Nodden providing super views of the high ground to the east and the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Cornwall to the west.

Traditional Stone Walls of Dartmoor

Highlight (Segment) • Historical Site

Old stone walls are part and parcel of Dartmoor's incredible landscape. Still a relatively wild national park, the walls that criss cross parts of the moor use local stone and traditional methods, becoming a part of the natural landscape.

The stone walls are a haven for lichens, moss, flowers and other plants, making them fascinating habitats by themselves. This trail is bordered by traditional walls that have stood for decades.

West Mill Tor

Highlight • Summit

If you are hiking to Yes Tor, don't pass by West Mill Tor without a visit. It almost looks like the ruins of a castle and is very recognisable.

The views from up here take you all the way across to Exmoor National Park in the north or south west to Yes Tor. Simply stunning.

Yes Tor summit

Highlight • Summit

The second highest point in Dartmoor National Park offers stunning vistas of North Devon and Cornwall. Note: it is close to a military range, so check for firing times before your visit (dartmoor-ranges.co.uk/firing_notice_1.html). Always start out well equipped on tours through Dartmoor!

High Willhays summit

Highlight • Natural Monument

The highest point on Dartmoor and the highest summit south of the Brecon Beacons. Very accessible and an easy hike for most people to do. The best thing is the wonderful views, especially on a sky blue spring day like today. Love raw and rugged Dartmoor!❤️

Great Links Tor

Highlight • Viewpoint

Great Links Tor is a prominent tor on the north-western flank of Dartmoor, Devon, England. It is visible for a considerable distance on the approach to the moor from the west. It is one of the highest points on Dartmoor, standing 1,939 feet (591 m) above sea level and is dominated by a monolithic outcropping of granite some 40 feet (12 m) high. There is an OS Triangulation point on a block to the west of the main outcrop.

You can stone hop across here or take the footbridge, this is a nice little stop for water or for a picnic if you are with a family but this is pretty close to the carpark to be much of a hike, a great path up to widgery cross from here.
