Rocky Stream Crossing and Steep Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Steep descent and a much steeper climb in and out of the car park. Challenge anyone to a zero dab attempt, including the stream crossing!

Big Moor

Highlight • Natural

Big Moor is a big moor....ok it's a great way of getting from Totley Moor towards Baslow. Beware as it can be incredibly boggy so keep to the proper path. If coming off Totley moor you come off the main road to a narrow gate then follow the signposted route parallel to the wall all the way to another gate (this feels counter intuitive). then you will see a wider defined path on your left. follow this down to a tarmac drive, turn right for about 300m towards a house. Just before the house take the path on your left down to a gate then keep on this faat open track before it spits you out on the main road again. Here go straight over for a little more single-track action!

White Edge

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Gritstone Edges were once extensively quarried for their rough, coarse stone. Remnants of discarded round millstones can be found around the edges, giving the stone its common name, millstone grit. Many corn and textile mills were sited here.

White Edge Trig Point

Highlight • Viewpoint

This is a pleasant quieter walk as most seem to keep to froggatt and curbar. If your lucky the stag and doe's will be about especially in the autum and spring.

White Edge

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

White Edge is a boulder jumble of an edge, it lacks the sheer cliff faces of nearby Froggatt and Curbar but makes up for this with amazing views and lower footfall. The edge runs across Big Moor to the east of and roughly parallel with Froggatt Edge. The trail is gravelly and well defined with a few big rocks to keep you concentrating. Combining the White Edge trail with the Froggatt Edge trail makes a great running loop from the north or south.
