Topflet Lakes

Highlight • Lake

The Topfletseen near Reisensburg/Günzburg. Many water birds can be seen around the lake - but also traces of beavers.

Danube Cyclist Rest Stop

Highlight • Restaurant

Cyclists from all over the world meet at the Donau Radler petrol station. What began with five beer table sets and a snack car has now become a sizeable place with huts and around 100 seats directly on the Danube bridge. In the summer at over 30 degrees it seems almost like a little paradise, if you get a cool apple spritzer here. But even on cooler, rainy days, the Radler petrol station, which is open from April to October, is the right address. Then you get a warm soup or a hot coffee.

Tip: Here you will find repair tools, tools, bicycle hoses, air and electricity for e-bikes. And in an emergency, operators Liane and Herbert Schwegler have a tip where to find the nearest bike shop in the area.

Donauauen Offingen

Highlight • Forest

A wonderful hiking and adventure trail in the shade, so well walkable in the summer heat. If you keep your eyes open, you can discover many little wonders - but unfortunately Schloss Landestrost is not.

Beautiful, top signposted round through the Danube meadows and forests. Didn't get much sun, but the journey is the goal. Almost no one on the go, probably everyone skiing in the Allgäu .... So the right thing to clear your head. Only birdsong and splashing from the water. And..... No traffic jams on the way home😁

Today we went on a beautiful hike along the Danube.
Near Offingen, I can recommend stopping at the Radler gas station for a quick refueling stop for the return journey.
We hiked back via Grießlesee, taking a somewhat more remote route. We often followed the Danube Forest hiking trail, which I highly recommend. We'd already hiked the entire trail at …

On this hike you can experience the Danube, the Danube floodplain forest and the Danube slopes. In the alluvial forest there was a kingfisher and many water birds to be admired. There were beaver tracks and jungle for free. The paths are easy to walk. In Reisenburg we saved the castle. The observation tower near Offingen was unfortunately closed.

This was a foggy round on the Danube. We selected the tour from the Komoot hiking suggestions. There were no birds at this time of the year, but we saw endless beaver bite marks.
