The Gothic church from 1404-1411 finally became too small in the 19th century. The call for a new church to be built grew louder and louder. The well-known and probably most important Bishop of Linz, Rudigier, suggested setting up a fund to enlarge the church, and the village judge and local poet Ignaz Donabaur gave the first donation in 1858.

The reconstruction of the church took place in the years 1890-1895. The master builder Raimund Jeblinger from Linz drew up the plans for the "Mühlviertler Dom". The church was built at the time with great sacrifices by the parish population. The parish and church patron is St. Andrew the Apostle. The church itself was inaugurated in 1895, but the tower was not completed until 1907 and the organ was purchased in 1912. (Source: Tourism Upper Austria)
