The starting point is the hikers' parking lot between Utscheid and Fischbach-Oberraden, near the gliding airfield.

The southern edge of the Islek offers magnificent views over the Bitburg estate, 300 meters below. Sights include the medieval pilgrimage church in Weidingen and the Fischbach Chapel. The idyllic valleys of the Burscheider Bach and Radenbach streams offer fascinating natural experiences.
